CONGRATULATIONS!!! You have just gained access to The Madeleine School PE/Health website. This site is a horn of plenty…a veritable cybernetic cornucopia of information detailing your child’s PE experience here at The Madeleine School.
Imagine…flocks of majestic, and, YES, magical unicorns. These herds of mythical creatures are all peacefully grazing while thick, puffy cotton candy clouds roll serenely above them. Garden nymphs, fairies, and other winged creatures flit about as Pan passes the time serenading this pastoral lot…inside the gym during Physical Education class.
After that illustrious yarn, it is easy to observe that PE is a magical place. It’s a locale graced with activities, games, and movement experiences setting the gym solely apart from any other habitat in the school. This arena, wholly fashioned for movement, says “RUN, THROW, TAG, SPRINT, AND CHEER!!”
My name is Emory Watson, the PE/Health teacher here at The Madeleine School. For children, the act of movement is natural and is a joyous occasion for them. With that said, in my second year here, it is my job and responsibility to continue to foster in your children the zeal to be active. To continue to supply and maintain an athletic environment where students can safely, both physically and emotionally, play.
It is my desire to see all students fulfill the natural hardwired commands of their brains which says “GO”. Our storage room is full of equipment especially ordered with the students of The Madeleine School in mind. We will be involved in a multitude of activities covering team sports all the way down to “Full Contact Mother Goose”.
