Library & Computer Lab
Welcome to the Library and Computer Lab. I am Mrs. Richards, the Media Specialist and Computer Teacher. It is hard to believe that this is my 10th year at The Madeleine. I started here as the 3rd Grade teacher, and then I followed my passion, went back to school, and became a certified Media Specialist. Prior to Madeleine, I taught 4th grade in Boise, Idaho, spent two years in the Peace Corps, and received my MA at Willamette University. I have a wonderful husband and two dogs, a Boston Terrier named Fish and a Bug (Boston/Pug) named Taco. I love to travel and cook. A parent described me as "permanently perky"; perhaps that has something to do with drinking coffee since age 8.
Library FAQs
May I come to the library or computer lab at other times?
Yes. You may visit the library or computer lab with a pass from your teacher. Your teacher may schedule additional time in the library or computer lab for your whole class or small groups.
How many books may I check out, and how long may I keep them?
K & 1st may check out 1 book for 1 week.
2nd-8th may check out 2 books for 2 weeks
(additional books may be checked out for research projects)
What happens if I forget to return a book?
You will not be able to check out a new book until your overdue books are returned or you have paid the replacement cost.
What should I do if I accidentally damage a book?
Please bring the book back to the library to be repaired. If the book cannot be repaired, you will be asked to pay for a replacement.
I want to make a donation to the library. How do I do that?
See Mrs. Richards. She has a few different ways you can donate to the library.
