Kindergarten
Welcome to the Madeleine Kindergarten!
My name is Leigh Ann Schneider, and I have had the great privilege of teaching kindergarten children at The Madeleine School for the past nine years. I first began dreaming about becoming a teacher when I was in the fourth grade. In the sixth grade I enrolled in an after school program called "Future-Teachers". I was destined to become a teacher! I am grateful to all of the wonderful teachers who provided generosity, guidance, and example to me over the years. I love teaching in the Catholic school setting, and being able to guide children in their discovery of God's presence in our world.
The kindergarten year is a incredible year of growth for young children. I teach thematic units that are integrated into a full day of instruction. Our curriculum consists of Literacy, English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Religion. The children also attend Art, Music, Physical Education, and Library/Computer classes. I believe that children learn best when they feel that they are loved, cared for and safe. I work hard to create a classroom atmosphere that consists of spirtiuality, creativity, problem solving, and a mutual respect.
The Madeleine Kindergarten is a loving place to bloom and grow.
